Here is my canvas piece that I've been working on for quite some time now. 

I began with an 11X14" canvas and covered it with white gesso.   I used TH Crackle Paint, Fired Brick throughout the canvas.   Each tile was individually cut out of chipboard and wrapped using alternating silver and red metallic paper.  I decided not to use the red flower shown in this photo.

 Some Beads Landing trinkets/charms found at Michaels were used throughout the canvas as well as Tim Holtz and Ranger products.   In this photo you can see I used Shrink Plastic ran it through TH's Umbrella Man Die. I shrunk him and used my black Copic Pen to color him in and bring him to life.  He stands to represent the letter "I" for the word "Imagination" that is across the bottom of the canvas using TH's Alpha Parts, Newsprint adhesive letters.  Tim's Sprocket Gears were used in the middle of the large wheel of the vintage bicycle which was made out of chipboard, I inked it with TH Distress Ink, Vintage Photo and drowned it in Glossy Accent, gotta love it! 

 A favorite thing I like to do is to use screen (window) which you can find at your local hardware store.  Tim's Tiny Attacher mini staples were colored in black. returned to the Attacher (stapler)  and placed them throughout the screen to represent raindrops.  Umbrella man was dappered up with some Distress Ink (Black Soot) and black enamel on his shoe, hat and umbrella.   I cut an extra piece of the umbrella from the die and made a slit to fit snuggly onto the the main umbrella to make the umbrella 3D.  TH Picture Wheel die inked up with metallic Alcohol Ink and Black Soot.   I prepped a set of Regal Adornment, (wings) by punching small holes on each with TH's Drill Punch. They were kept together with a large jump ring. 

I covered the man's back with Lisa Pavelka's Micro Gears, another favorite product I love to use.

The three chipboard male figures I believe were purchased from Retro Cafe Art.   I painted them with black acrylic paint and Rock Candy crackle.  I hot glued Silver Metallic Rick Rack ribbon onto the bottom of the canvas.

TH Alpha Parts Signmaker, on top of th the Film Strip Ribbon.  Used a label maker to print the words, World, Forever and Lifetime.  I also added lights to throughout the canvas. 

This is a head is from 7 Gypsies chipboard piece that someone had given to me at a crop and I thought it would go just right with all the trinkets and embellishments that were going into this project.  It's actually a head of a man with his mouth wide open.  Tim's Time Piece with a Sprocket Gear was placed in the center of the mouth.  I used DI Black Soot around the edges and a nice dose of Glossy Accent Crackle.  After it was completely dried, I went over it with DI Black Soot lightly enough to fill in some of the cracks. 

TH Mini Gears, unknown stamp with the word Art.  The steampunk gentlemen peeking behind the pillar were from TH/Stampers Anonymous, Steampunk (CSM107).  I stamped/inked on grunge paper, inked up with black archival ink and DI Aged Mahogany and cut them out.  I added in eyeglasses to one of the 3 men on the stamp to change things up a bit. Mini dominoes, birds, pointing hand, metal flowers and some small and large gears from Beads Landing were thrown in to spice things up a bit. 

For quite some time now I had this stamp of the wooden figure and decided to use it on this project.  He too was painted with Ranger's Gold Metallic Dauber.  Red Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint for the seat and frame of the vintage bicycle.



Melissa Francis's Resin Frame painted with white acrylic paint, glimmered with Pearl and I used Rock Candy in certain areas.  5" wooden poseable figure painted gold, Industrial Chic charm on head, Beads Landing key on his back.  TH Chain Tassel on as a hat.  On the large red gears I placed TH Sprocket Gears, Hitch Fasteners, Metal Game Spinner and a Word Band.

TH Love Struck die was cut out of grunge paper, inked up with DI Aged Mahogany and micro-geared up.  Each gear was strategically placed, Glossy Accent used again to keep them in place, and I gave cupid a side view of his face by adding highlights and inked him deeper to give him a hairline, if you look closely I also gave him an ear.  He's also holding a TH Game Spinner as an arrow.  I added a screen cape with some red glittered string as well as red wire which also goes through the the giant red gears that appear to float.  A TH Stampers Anonymous stamp of an eye was inked, cut out and placed between the gears.

 A 5" poseable wooden figure was used and painted with gold paint.  This photo also gives you a closer look of cupid's leg and the Melissa Frances's resin frame that was painted with white acrylic paint, glimmered and cracked with Rock Candy in certain areas.  I went over the cracks lightly with DI Fired Brick and Black Soot.

Philosophy Tag, Imagine, Filmstrip, Clock Key, Sprocket Gears,  Baubles, Hope charm and capsule the men are coming out from.

The wings, micro gears and black enamel on the umbrella and hat.  White pen used for highlights on the hat.

 Here is a close up of how I placed the jump rings on the man with the umbrella wings.

Tim's Drill Punch makes a nice clean cut hole. 

A small key was placed on the wooden figure to appear as a firearm on his side.  The vintage bicycle was inked up, glossy accented cracked and I also used Ranger's Black Enamel lightly to highlight the brown seat.  Again, another product I am happy with and use often.

This plane charm with the guy hanging on has been saved for a special project and this was it.  I wish I could remember where I got him from because I would love to get more of them for future projects.  Isn't he cool!  On this close up you can also see the colored staples that reflect raindrops.





You can see the lights a bit better, they are also behind the frame.

TH On the Fence Edge Die was cut out of grunge paper, cut in half and placed on both sides of the man with the umbrella.  Below the man's feet I used a Stampscape stamp of a person walking a dog and placed it inside one of the Film Strip Ribbon frames.   A TH Pen Nib used to end the fence on the left.   With all this going on, a King emerges and approaches the Man.

Chain Tassel added to the end of the Industrial Chic hat.  Here you can also see the stamped eye to the left with a couple of Hitch Fasteners placed on the giant gears.



Jolee's steampunked hot air balloons and I added a couple of birds flying in the distance by hand.
