"The Rainbow Bridge"

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

His name was Anakin, he was 15 y.o. and on April 7th he would have made 16.  Anakin was a Labrador Retriever and a true loyal friend.

Here he is the same day we got, him sleeping in my husband's arms like an Angel.  He truly was and Angel.
Here he is with a Beanie of a black dog.  I've had this picture on my dresser for quite some time.  You can see Sydney's paws to the right.  She mothered him.
I got Anakin from Honeybrook, Pa. while visiting my brother Martin.  My nieces Eden & Moriah wanted to go see these puppies they saw in the local paper.  So off we went to "see" the puppies.

Once we got there, we saw this burly, biker type of guy approach us on a ATV.  He then turned to the back of the ATV and out of a box he pulled out this cute little puppy by the nape that was covered with ticks and fleas all over his face and so dirty.
Obviously, he was not being taken care of.  So It took him,  I just wanted to get him out of there.
His last meal that I prepared for him, chicken and rice.
My nieces were ecstatic that I took him.  We headed back to the house to clean him up.  He was so cute!   My intentions were to give him to another niece, Basia for her 4th bday if I remember correctly.  But, Basia's daddy did not approve.  I took him home to find him a good home.  He got along well with my Golden Retriever named Sydney (after actor, Sydney Portier).  I found a home for him, but I decided to keep the little guy.  I knew I could give him a good home.
    I couldn't kiss him enough...
He turned out to be a great dog and an awesome friend.   I took along Leia, my 5 y.o. white German Shepherd to keep Anakin calm.
I've been mourning Anakin for quite some time...
I bought the exact same Beanie toy and a Star Wars blanket with his name on it.  The toy will be cremated with him and the blanket I donated to the hospital.
We both sat on the blanket, I laid him across my legs as I massaged and kissed him one last time and told him how much I loved him...
    My heart still aches....

Come on Big Boy... Let's go for a walk...
Justice, Ebony, Britni, Sydney and Mom are waiting for you...
    I will be there soon...
    Luke 12:6
"Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not?  Yet not one of them goes forgotten before God."
(Scriptures that my brother Martin sent me when he received the news).
    I love you Big Boy!
