A MOMENT IN TIME CC3C #10-ASSEMBLAGE CLOCK

Playing again with Linda Ledbetter's  Studio L3
Lots of love went into the making of this clock.  It's been a work in progress completed and perfect for this Challenge
For this project I am using Tim Holtz's Assemblage Clock and
Idea-ology products.
to find out more details on how to create your own clock.
I first removed some pieces of the clock apart, removed the backing and glass.  Then I began sanding the clock using Tim's sandpaper.

I gessoed the entire clock, allowed it to dry and then I mixed red and white acrylic paint and covered the clock.  I added some TH idea-ology, Sprocket Gears and Pocket Watch using glue (E600).  Pieces of ribbon with baby sentiments were cut as well as some small pieces of screen.  The inside was covered with pink pleaded ribbon that was the perfect fit for the insides of the clock.

Then I applied some TH Crackle, Picket Fence and allowed it to do it's thing.  I finished it off with some TH Rock Candy Crackle.

I traced a piece of white cardstock and chipboard against the back door of the clock.  I adhered the cardstock and chipboard, cut a slit so I can later add lighting.  A hole was punched out of the back door as well as the backing of the Pocket Watch to run Rice Lights through both.

I then began to build and embellish the inside of the clock and Pocket Watch.  I painted come of the gears white using acrylic paint.  Some Jolee's Baby Sticker and baby embellishments, flower, rhinestones,  light pink tuelle, a Guardian Angel charm which I painted with a Burgundy Copic Pen.

I placed the lighting and glued it to the back of the clock using Velcro.  What fun I had creating this special piece for a long time loyal friend.
Hope you enjoyed my piece.  It is currently on display at Michaels for inspiration.
Thanks for your time and interest in viewing my work.

  2. This clock is gorgeous! I love all the texture and that you really used up all the space inside. And those lights really top it off! Where can one purchase them? I think that is what mine is lacking; still working! Your dear friend must be a very special person; this is a wonderful gift!

  11. Ivette...your baby girl clock is really cute. I love the addition of the rice lights. My only complaint about the assemblage clock is that the interior can sometimes be dark once you snap that back in place. You've done such a nice job of bringing "light" to your piece. Love the pink colors and the way you've created the interior and the exterior. Your friend must be very special for you to have gone to such great lengths to create something so special! Thanks for joining us at CC3C. <3 Candy

  16. What, what a great use of the clock! I love those clocks but I never know what I would put in one to justify the high price tag, if you know what I mean! But this seems just perfect :) Thanks for playing along in the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge!
